Closed-end Credit

Generally, any loan or credit sale agreement in which the amounts advanced, plus any finance charges and interest, are expected to be repaid in full over a definite time or by a specified future date. Most real estate and automobile loans are closed end agreements. Closed-end Credit is the opposite of a revolving line of credit, like a credit card.
